Radiomobile model 100 101 picture

Radiomobile  model 100
the 101 used the same basic
circuit but didn't have push button tuning.

(Models 4010 and 4011 are
6 volt versions of the 100 &
101)

Radiomobile 4220 4222
Radiomobile 4220 & 4222
Consisted of a 2 valve/tube dash mounted tuner unit and a separate box that contained the valve/tube I.F amp, detector, AGC, LFamp,  phase splitter, Power output circuit, as well as the vibrator power supply with its associated rectifier valve.

Radiomobile 400t

Model 400 & 500 series
these radios consisted of two separate units. the main tuner unit was dash mounted and contained the actual tuner and it's associated controls. The other unit housed the power amplifier. Although the tuner used valves/tubes the power amp used transistors.

RADIOMOBILE

Smiths Motor Accessories Ltd. and The Gramophone Company Ltd. joined to form Radiomobile Ltd.
The experience of Smiths in designing Motor Accessories combined with the skills of The
Gramophone Company has produced ' car-planned' radio company, Radiomobile.

The problems peculiar to mobile radio equipment -- problems in design, construction and maintenance,
were attacked from the very beginning and overcome, by concentrating the resources of the two great firms on
the radio 'car planned' for efficiency and reliability, as well as being a ' car planned' size, shape and appearance.

Radiomobile radios were fitted to most UK prestige cars as standard but they also produced radios for aftermarket
fitting. although initially just a gadget they soon became a necessary part of the vehicle.

Radiomobile also produced more specialist equipment including the 4020 limousine radio designed to be integrated
in the passenger compartment. Other models were made for coaches and included a microphone input.

The early sets consisted of two units the main tuner front end was fitted in the dash and the power supply and
amplifier was mounted remotely. The manuals include the info on the various amp/PSU units

Radiomobile equipment can also be labeled as HMV, and in certain markets notably
North & South America this equipment could also be labeled Emitron.
