Marconiphone This must be one of the best known names in the world of early wireless. Did he invent it? NO probably not, however, he was the first person to prove to the general public that it could be used, for long distance communication. We are based in Cornwall not far from the site of the Transatlantic station. (sadly not much evidence left of it now) but it is quite interesting to note that in 1902 the ETC (Eastern Telegraph Company), who, owned the monopoly over cable communications and were based at Porthcurno, (about 16 miles away) saw Marconi as such a threat that, they erected a listening station to "spy" on his experiments. Later in 1929 ETC and other cable operators merged with Marconi's Wireless Telegraph Company to form Imperial & International Communications Ltd., that, was renamed in 1934 and became Cable & Wireless. We have hundreds of manuals for Marconi equipment including test and military equipment, What you see here is just scratching the surface, We will be adding more items hopefully very quickly. as time allows. We have started with some of their early stuff to wet your appetite, and to give you an idea of the range of manuals, and diagrams we have We are hoping to add some free content on this page as we get it all sorted.
Manuals and information for digital download. You will receive a link to the download page by e mail
